George Town Festival is back and this year, from the 7th of June to 7th of July 2013.
Commemorating George Town's 2008 inscription as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this annual celebration is known as the biggest arts festival in Penang.
The official launching of the ceremony will be happening on the 8th June 2013, 3.00pm at Padang Esplanade with a kite-flying ceremony. Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Abdul Rahman Abbas and Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng will be flying kites during the ceremony, joined by master kite makers and kite flyers from the Philippines, Cambodia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
