31st August 2010 is our 53rd Hari Merdeka, Malaysia Independent day. In Penang, we celebrate this occasion in full force. You may find many display the national flag on their vehicles, buildings and homes as a symbol of love for the country.

This annual event is incomplete without the midnight sales at Queensbay Mall where they have their Merdeka crazy sales with big discount from their participating outlets.
