Catch the very talented Sungha Jung live at the Performing Arts Centre of Penang this May as he entertains you with covers of popular hits and his original compositions. Sungha Jung is a South Korean professional acoustic fingerstyle guitarist who rose to fame worldwide through YouTube videos of him playing acoustic versions of songs by U2, Michael Jackson, Bon Jovi, The Eagles and Extreme. As of 2012, his videos had gotten a total of over 420 million hits.
As a child, he watched his father play the guitar and eventually picked it up at the age of nine. His talent was noticed when he would watch videos online and be able to play the music within a short time and without the original tabs. In 2011, Sungha has performed in the US with Trace Bundy as well as toured Scandinavia and Japan.
