The Penang Ferry Service is jointly operated by the Penang Port Commission (PPC) and Penang Port Sdn Bhd. Its fleet of eight ferries, namely Pulau Pinang, Pulau Payar, Pulau Angsa, Pulau Kapas, Pulau RImau, Pulau Undan, Pulau Rawa and Pulau Talang-Talang ply the waters daily. Penang Port is unique, as it is the only port in Malaysia that runs a ferry service. The ferry service links George Town on Penang Island (Pengkalan Raja Tun Uda) and Butterworth on the mainland (Pengkalan SUltan Abdul Halim) The first ferry departure from Butterworth is at 0600 hour, with the last at 0030 hour; and from Penang Island the first ferry of the day will depart at 0530 hour, with the last at 0100 hour.There is no charge imposed for mainland-bound motorists coming from the island.
Rates:-Pedestrian - Adult : RM1.20 Children (between 5-12 years old) : RM0.60 Season Ticket for Pedestrian (Valid for 2 months from day of issue) Adult : RM30 School-going children : RM6.00
Vehicles Bicycle: : RM1.40 Motorcycle (inclusive of pillion rider) : RM2.00 Trishaw/tricycle : RM3.00 Motorcar (including station wagon, four-wheel drive, three-wheel commercial vehicle, motorcycle with side car) : RM7.70 Lorry (2 axles with 4 wheels) : RM13.20 Lorry (2 axles with 6 wheels) : RM27.50
