altPenang is in the limelight once again as George Town gained the eight placing in The Guardian’s list of 40 “Holiday hotspots: where to go in 2014” published on 3 January.

The travel feature mentioned the UNESCO heritage city of George Town as one of South East Asia’s “hottest destinations” since 2008, covering its delicious street food, fine dining, boutique hotels, latest drinking spot and its popular month-long George Town festival.
