The Federation of Malaya Orchid Society (FOMOS) in partnership with the Penang Sate Tourism Development and Culture Office is organizing an Orchid Festival which will be held from 3rd Dec till 11th Dec 2011. This event is held to promote Penang as an orchid growing state and educated the public on how to grow orchids.
Over 300 orchids of 35 species which will be on display by experienced and dedicated orchid growers from all over Malaysia. Varieties of orchids and related accessories can also be purchased from the different vendors.
Throughout the 9-day road show, visitors will have the opportunity to have a closer look at orchid species as well as orchid hybrids. They are able to take this opportunity to interact with the growers, to purchase orchids and related items, and to immerse in the splendor of orchids.
The festival will be graced by the Yang Amat Berbahagia Toh Puan Dato’ Seri Utama Hjh. Majimor Binto Shariff during the opening ceremony on the 3rd of December 2011, at 9.30am.
