For the first time, the Penang state government will cooperate with chinese associations in Penang to organize a Chinese Association Gala Dinner on 26th of May to gathered all chinese organization with the history of more than a century. Hope all chinese associations in Penang have the urge to join and give a fully support. The venue will be at Straits Quay. After the British colonization in 1786 in Penang, it attracts a large number of Chinese from southern china to make a living here. Today, Penang had transformed into a developed state with full of unique and rich culture. The buildings left over by the Chinese ancestors is an evidence to validate the history of the chinese evolution. Penang Tourism Development and Culture Committee chairman Law Heng Kiang, announced that Penang retain its own chinese culture well, especially the chinese organizations and the heritage buildings compare to the other states. He estimated about 35 to 50 Chinese organizations have establishment the history of more than a century. The information collected about chinese culture and relic in Penang is way more compared to the other state includes Melaka, Kuala Lumpur etc. He also said that the meeting is expected to attract thousands of people to the gala dinner. The committee will be producing short video and books to introduce the Penang ancestral hall and history to spread out to the world and to improve tourism in Penang.
