Celebrate George Town World Heritage Day this weekend as Penang commemorates its fourth anniversary as a UNESCO World Heritage Site with three full days of exciting events.

Main highlights include the Early Secret Society Trail from 10.00am till noon on Sunday as well as the George Town Open House where you visit Penang’s heritage and historical buildings which will be open to all visitors from 8.00 to 9.30pm on 6 July, 2.00 to 5.00pm on 7 July, and 9.00 to 1.00pm on 8 July. Experience the town as a vast, living museum from opulent Chinese clan temples and old cathedrals to museums and historical landmarks like the Light House at Esplanade, the Penang High Court and British colonial buildings. You can also enjoy a feast of Nasi Kandar during the Nasi Kandar Festival at more than 10 Nasi Kandar Restaurants in Lebuh Queen, Lebuh King and Lebuh Chulia from 6.00 to 11.00pm on 6 & 7 July.

Other the program includes more than 20 cultural performances and shows by local communities, guided tours of the city’s heritage sites, heritage talks, arts and craft showcases and food bazaars.
