Signing of MOU between Chairman of Penang State Local Government Committee and Chairman of CPPCC Zhongshan Municipal Committee
Chairman of Penang State Local Government Committee, The Honourable Mr. Chow Kon Yeow will sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Honourable Mr. Qiu Shuhong, The Chairman of CPPCC Zhongshan Municipal Committee, People's Republic of China.
Mr. Qiu Shuhong will be accompanied by 5 delegates which includes the Vice Chairman, Mr. Zhou Xin ; the Vice Secretary-general, Mr. Ou Wanhong ; Consultant of Zhongshan Publicity Department, Mr Chen Hui ; Section Chief General Office of CPPCC Zhongshan Municipal Committee, Mr. Xie Lisheng and Senior Staff Member of Zhongshan Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Bureau, Mr. Yao Guanzhong.
The memorandum of understanding (MOU) will be signed on 13th August 2012 after noticing many strengths and advantages to be gained between Georgetown, Malaysia and the City of Zhongshan, People's Republic of China. The MOU is a mutually beneficial agreement that aims to cross-promote business investment, trade, scientific, tourism, culture, education exchanges and others in both states respectively. On top of that, both parties strongly agree to build up understanding and friendship through bilateral official and business missions.
Throughout the years, Penang State Government have made various efforts in order to place Penang as one of the top city in Asia especially in the tourism industry. This is one of the many MOUs Penang has signed with China in order to strengthen the relationship between Penang and China.
