|SuperStar Gemini’s inaugural cruise in Penang|

The newly refurbished SuperStar Gemini has set sail from Penang International Cruise Terminal on 2 January 2013 for the first time. This 50,764-tonnage passenger cruise vessel is on its inaugural cruise across Asia, and is being homeported in Penang this month until the 31st of January only. Before arriving in Penang, SuperStar Gemini embarked from the Singapore Cruise Centre. It will next be homeported in Sanya, China from February to March, and in Shanghai from April to October.
The refurbished SuperStar Gemini can carry up to 1,700 passengers, and features upgraded navigational and safety systems, restyled cabins, restaurants, entertainment and recreational facilities and a new hull artwork, depicting the constellation Gemini twins in vibrant colours. It houses 766 luxury guest cabins, over 6,000 sq feet duty-free retail area, a spa and health club and also offers a broad range of Asian and international cuisine.
Mr William Ng, Chief Operating Officer of Star Cruises remarked that 2013 marks the cruise operator’s 20th anniversary since their first cruise, and this is the 4th year Star Cruises has been operating in Penang.
