Spend September exploring and admiring the lush greenery of Penang Hill and its panoramic view of George Town while participating in these activities lined up for you this month. On 16 September, celebrate a day dedicated to our nation at the Peak of the Pearl with various spectacular events. Malaysia Day is a historical event that marks the establishment of Malaysia on 16 September 1963. It marks the day when the states of Sabah and Sarawak in Borneo joined the Peninsula to form a new nation named Malaysia.
On 21 September, witness the beauty of a night full of lights at Dataran Bukit Bendera to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival or Lantern Festival. Bring along your lanterns and join hundreds of visitors for the night lantern walk.
Finally, spend the last weekend of the month with an adventure by participating in the Penang Hill Explorace on 28 September. The Explorace is an activity designed for participants to have fun on the hill while completing challenges related to nature and heritage. Each participating team are equipped with the necessary tools and will be asked to complete seven tasks while exploring the control area of the hill. The Explorace is open to the all members of the public above age 16 and each team is required to register five members. The fees for each team is RM200.
