A variety of good and healthy dishes are served in JenxDan Lifestyle Cafe, a non-meat cafe in Chow Thye Road Penang. The menu consists of Western delicacies and also Chinese delights with some dishes that include eggs and some well prepared ‘meat replacement’ foods.

The menu looks interesting, especially the appetizer, Italian Tomato Bruchestta. Pieces of wholemeal bread come with a topping of chopped tomato with basil in extra-virgin olive oil.

Another of JenxDan Lifestyle Cafe popular vegetarian sandwich dish is the Cheesy Mushroom Sandwich. It has pieces of diced stir fried mushrooms and eggplant lay on top of a very unique English muffin, served alongside with fruits and coleslaw.

The Pasta Carbonara is another dish with scrumptious flavour. The fusili was tossed evenly together with plenty of mushroom, peas, carrot, broccoli and cauliflower.

The Golden Duck was definitely a great creation. The dish came with a bowl of red rice with pieces of vegetarian duck sitting on top of a bed of assorted vegetable. A dressing of black sesame olive oil and vinegar lend a slightly sweet and sourish taste to the dish.

For dessert, the menu featured several different flavours of Eggless Cheesecake. We ordered a piece each of the Mango Cheesecake and the Grape Cheesecake. Both cakes were delicious especially the Mango Cheese cake which has plenty of mango pieces sandwiched in between.

The cafe offers a number of organic hot and cold beverages including the healthy Rosella juice. This refreshing drink is rich in Vitamin C. Another recommended drink is the Coral grass which is rich in calcium and also high in protein and natural enzyme. The coral grass comes with a few choices of fruit juices – apple, orange, mango and guava. The Organic Earl Grey Tea with an aromatic flavour is recommended as it eases digestion.
The above dishes are just some of the offerings in the menu of this meatless cafe.
