DELICIOUS AND LUXURIOUS
Article & Photos By HELEN ONG

This place, a self-styled “spa cuisine”, so called because of the beauty treatments available on the first floor, is located on the ground floor of the large old ang mor lau (mansion) in Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah. Run by Singaporean-trained Executive Chef Keith Khoo, the place is elegant and intimate yet friendly and welcoming, and perfect for a quiet dinner, a business meal, or even a birthday get-together.

The pork-free set menus - prices depend on which mains you choose - there’s lamb, beef or chicken – start from a very reasonable RM7.90++, which at lunch times will get you a delicious Hokkien Char (fried noodles in dark sauce), Fried Tang Hoon (glass noodles) or Fried Rice and a drink. All come with a dollop of fairly decent sambal belacan too.

From about RM13.90++ onwards, you can choose between a host of other sets which come with salad or soup, dessert of the day and freshly-brewed coffee or tea. Why not go the whole hog, so to speak, and get a half lobster for just RM99++! And sing along to the local duo who play there every Friday and Saturday night from 8-11pm.

“We also have a good stock of imported wines ranging from RM69 to RM6000!” laughed the effable Keith.

As the mansion also houses the Eiffel Elysees Esthetiques Beauty and Wellness Centre on the first floor,  why not try (or treat someone you love to) their special Spa Promo, where you can have a delirious one and a half hour spa treatment followed by a delicious five-course set meal - or vice versa. Talk about having your cake and eating it.

From January 15th, they are re-introducing their popular home-made special “Deluxcious Yee Sang”, with fresh caviar and Norwegian salmon and no artificial colouring, for just RM28++ per box which can serve between 2-4 pax. For every box sold, RM1 will be donated to charity.
Deluxcious Spa Cuisine is open from noon to 3pm and 6-11pm every day, but closed every second and third Mondays of the month. For details call 04-262 1288.
