The trendy Hard Rock Hotel in Batu Ferringhi is somewhere to head for if you want to treat yourself, and the family, to a whole range of delights.

First of all, there’s a “Buka Puasa Buffet” at Starz Diner, their contemporary ground floor coffee house, where you can savour a quite delicious spread of some 30 home-cooked delicacies. The menu rotates, but you’ll find appetisers like soothing Ayam Bubur Lambuk (Chicken Congee), sweet dates, Ulam-ulam (fresh local greens) with Sambal Belacan, some very tasty kerabus and Rojak Buah-Buahan (Malaysian fruit salad with a sweet, spicy sauce). There’s also a good spread of kueh (local cakes) and western desserts, washed down with coffee, tea or a glass of Air Bandung (rose-flavoured milk).

According to Executive Sous Chef Beh who brings with him all his experience from 5 years at one of Genting Highland’s top hotels, must-try main course items include Sate Anika (mixed satay) with Condiments, Ayam Percik (Grilled Marinated Chicken), Fish Curry with Ladies Fingers, Beef Rendang, Murtabak (Spiced Meat Pancake), Ikan Bakar (Grilled Fish) with Assam (Tamarind) Sauce, and many other favourites.

However, for those who prefer to break fast differently, then the iconic Hard Rock Café Penang is offering a special “Buka Puasa Platter” (RM58++ pp). Tuck in to the Soup of the Day whilst listening to favourite hits, after which you’ll be served a platter of Hard Rock specialties like their famous Potato Skins, Bar-B-Que Chicken, Pulled Lamb Sandwich, or the yummy Open-Face Sirloin Sandwich. Finish off with one of their enormous yummy desserts.

According to General Manager of the hotel John Primmer, “Our guests are constantly looking for a unique dining experience with us.  This fasting month, we want to offer them a wide selection of choices in our outlets so they can have an awesome time enjoying berbuka puasa with family and friends.”

The Buka Puasa promotion at Hard Rock Hotel Penang is available all throughout the month of Ramadhan. The Buka Puasa Buffet (RM58++pp) will be served at Starz Diner from Monday to Saturday, and their Barefoot BBQ Buffet is available at their beachside Pizzeria on Sundays, priced at RM60++ pp.

Everyone can enjoy their once-a-year Fasting Specials Room Package this month too, priced at a very special RM390++ per room per night which includes the hotel room, buffet breakfast or sahur, and Buka Puasa dinner for two plus 2 children under 5.
