Right in the heart of the heritage zone of George Town at Stewart Lane is a quaint little cafe known as Nostalgie Cafe. This cafe which opened its doors to the public recently is housed in a charmingly restored two-storey pre-war shop house. The cafe comes with al fresco seating in the air-well and indoor seating.



Nostalgie offers cranberry juice besides the logan, iced lemon tea and orange juice. The spaghetti marinara is served with two huge panfired prawns and parmesan cheese. The fettuccine carbonara (RM21) comes with white sauce, turkey bacon and button mushroom. The sauce proved to be a little too thick and overpowering. The aglio olio with prawns (RM24) is also another great choice.

Situated by the banks of Sungai Dua, Selera Sri Tambang has been churning out lip smacking mee udang with huge prawns and crabs for the past 20 years. It is located in Bukit Mertajam at Seberang Perai.



Customers are usually torn between choosing the different types of crabs. The flower crabs are sold at RM5 per100g while the higher-priced Udang Galah is at RM7 per 100g and the Udang Kertas at RM9 per100g.
